Felipe Gandra
Felipe joined CSF as a Research Analyst in 2022. He is an economist dedicated to harmonizing environmental protection with social development and economic production. He has 5 years of experience in policy and project analysis related to land and resource use, climate change and sustainable development. Before joining CSF, he worked for FSC International (Bonn) performing data analysis and research for its ecosystem services program. He also worked in academia for 3 years, first at the global think tank Climate Policy Initiative and then at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, and provided consulting services for a carbon credit company in Brazil. Felipe’s primary research interests are in ecosystem service valuation, socioeconomic dynamics of land conversion, impact evaluation and environmental trading markets (particularly, vegetation trading permits and carbon offsets). He holds an MSc in Agricultural and Food Economics from the University of Bonn, with an exchange at Wageningen University and a bachelor's degree in Political Economy from U.C. Berkeley. In his free time, Felipe enjoys composing music on the guitar / piano and feeling miserable with his football team, São Paulo FC.
